2. The Institute of Physics

The Institute of Physics is a leading scientific society. We are a charitable organisation with a worldwide membership of more than 50,000, working together to advance physics education, research and application.

We engage with policymakers and the general public to develop awareness and understanding of the value of physics and, through IOP Publishing, we are world leaders in professional scientific communications.

In September 2013, we launched our first fundraising campaign.  Our campaign, Opportunity Physics, offers you the chance to support the work that we do.

3. Techniquest

Techniquest is an educational charity, established in 1986, and is the UK’s longest established science centre.   Techniquest’s mission is to engage people with science and to motivate them to learn more.  It provides a range of services to schools and teachers, both at its centre in Cardiff, and at schools, to complement formal education provision in Wales, and works extensively with public audiences.

Around a third of its funding is from Welsh Government particularly to support schools programmes. Techniquest is also one of the leading commercial exhibit builders in the UK, selling exhibits and programmes to science centres around the world.
