The purpose of the awards

The Institute of Physics in Wales presents an annual award to the top-scoring Physics A-level WJEC candidate in Wales. The award, created in memory of ‘Gron’ Jones, a passionate physics teacher and active member of IOP who strove to see the delivery of excellent physics education, was designed to recognise and reward academic excellence in Wales.

The Institute of Physics awards exist to recognise and reward outstanding achievements by physicists in their respective fields. Please note - this link will take you to the awards section of www.iop.org.

Goronwy Jones

The Goronwy Jones prize is currently £300 and is awarded on an annual basis. It is awarded to the top-scoring A-level candidate in Physics (WJEC)
